I've got a job

I've got a job. Already started to work this Tuesday.
It's quite busy but I love it so far.
My colleagues are quite good, especially my supervisor.
She's very kind to me.

Although the salary is quite low compared to what I need (I should say what my family needs), I still wanna work for this organisation as long as possible.

Drunk

I haven't been this drunk for so long.
But I guess I am not that drunk, at least I can still type properly.

But I did cry, for lots of reasons..
luckily I am home safely.

Thanks Karen, thanks brother.

I am not ready, I will never be.

I am not ready to get back to the real world.
I am worse than ever before.
I will never be ready, physically and mentally.

I won't be able to survive in this kind of world.
I will find a way to leave.

But what I've learned today,
was to think more for the others.
If someone doesn't want to associate himself with you in front of other friends,
just stay away from that person, leave that person alone.
No matter how hard you try to be friendly, that person would just think the wrong way and do something to hurt you.
Since I really want this person to be happy, I will leave this person alone from now on.

Tonight I cried.
As far as I remember, this is the first time after I came back to Hong Kong.
No, I didn't cry for anyone. I cried for all the things around me. I cried for myself.

I don't know what to do,
but I guess I would have to be alone for a long long while.

New Year Eve

Only a few days left to 2008.
I've been very busy since October and finally now I have a little break for me to sit down and have a deep thought about my future.
I didn't go out to celebrate Christmas. And I'm not planning to go out on New Year Eve.
This is my third year alone on New Year Eve.
31/12/2005, I was alone in Canberra, with 3 cats and 1 rabbit, I was terribly sick.
31/12/2006, I was alone in a hotel room in Singapore, I was probably sleeping already when everybody else was counting down.
31/12/2007, I'm planning to stay and home and count down with my 2 lovely cats. I hope I won't fell asleep before mid-night.

Finally!!

My last exam results were out just now.
I really thought I failed one particular module and would have to go back to ANU to take a summer course.
But I'm so lucky to get a pass for it.
so, I'm done.
Finally.

But what's next?

Go n Stay

I dunno where I can go.
I dunno where I should go.
But I definitely know where I cannot stay.

Exhausted

I'm exhausted. I wanna get back to my own world, or go to my dream world ideally.
Will it come true?

Last supper

This is my last supper in Singapore.
I didn't have something very special, instead, I had the dish that I probably had for my lunch/dinner most of the time when I'm at hall - chicken rice.
I wouldn't say this chicken rice is the best in Singapore, but the taste is not too bad, when comparing to other food in hall!
And it's cheap! S$2.50 plus a free soup. Actually sometimes the soup was the real motivation for me to have the chicken rice!
Most importantly, the auntie in the stall is very nice.

I know my sisters will be very shocked when they see this photo coz I don't eat bean spouts. Yes, I still don't eat them, especially when I see heaps on them on top of the rice!!! yuck!!
But they didn't use bean spouts until these 2 weeks, I really don't know why.. they used to use my favourite bak choy (小棠菜) all the time!!

Anyway.. I'm almost packed for tomorrow. I'm very tired now since I only slept for 1 hour last night. I'd better get some sleep now.

I'll probably write some more posts about my life in Singapore later when I'm back to Hong Kong. But for the time being, I'll be away until at least Dec 23.

International Economics in 24 hours

I seriously need this kind of book now...
ideally "International Economics in 12 hours for Dummies" >.<

L and T thing

Obviously, I am not the only one who get the L and T thing wrong, or we did not?
Anyway, I am going for my holiday soon, you guys have fun with metaphor.

After my holiday, I might have to start planning for my dream life, hopefully.

End of single life

No no.. I'm not going to talk about romantic relationship. I'm referring to my overseas life.

I've been away from home since July 2005.
Since then, I am enjoying a large degree of freedom.
Except being not able to see my family and my 2 lovely cats, I do enjoy my time alone overseas.
For the first 1.5 years, I stayed with my 2 sisters,
we had a great time and I think that our relationships became a lot better.
No, we were also ok before that but since I am a bit older than the two of them, I guess this 1.5 years did bring us a bit closer.

And for my last year in Singapore, I am totally free.
I'm away from my family, from the friends I know. I'm totally by myself.
So I can do whatever I want without telling others and explaining to them.
Most of the time I eat by myself and I can skip lunch or dinner whenever I want.
This kind of life may sounds very boring to most of the people,
but this is a perfect lifestyle for me.
I guess I have minor dereism.

But all these will come to the end this Saturday.
I will be in Hong Kong with my family.
I cannot have full control to my life anymore. =(
And thanks to Facebook, I met lots of old friends and that means many gathering will be coming up when I get back to Hong Kong later this month.
Of course I wanna meet them.. but part of myself still want to hide in this little world of myself.

I seriously thought of staying in Singapore for several more years simply because I don't have many friends here. But unfortunately I didn't have time to prepare for that and now I have to go back. Once I get back, it will not be very likely for me to move all my stuff again, if you know me, you should know how lazy I am.

The only hope for me now.. is hopefully I can manage to go to Laos and work later. This is seriously a dream that is almost impossible to achieve, but I'm trying my best.

A conversation between a brother and a sister

Besides a lovely father, I've also got a super supportive brother, Charles.
He's not my real brother. We were colleagues before and then turned out to be brother and sister. He claimed to be my elder brother while he is actually younger than me.

How supportive is this brother?

Example 1
Although there is no scientific proof, he still let me claim that my IQ is higher than him by 1 point.

Example 2
Two days ago, I used my mini vacuum cleaner to clean my room. And I suddenly had a brilliant idea to use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum my keyboard (I'm using a laptop). I can tell that my idea really worked because the "C" key was sucked half way up!!
I then spent almost 20 minutes playing with that tiny "C" key and actually pulled it all out of the keyboard! But of course I managed to fix it at the end.
To celebrate this, I sent an email to Charles and told him how smart I am!
Of course he replied (two days later though) and agreed!!

By the way, later that day I found out that the "4" key was also sucked up... and I fixed it within 2 minutes! Hahaa. I'm quite a professional now!

Dear bro, I love you!! =P

Ignore me.. unless

you can understand all these..
if you do understand all these.. come and see me.. and let me punch you.
1. Kinesics (Emblems, Illustrators, Regulators, Adaptors)
2. Paralanguage
3. Proxemics
4. Haptics
5. Olfactics
6. Artifacts
7. Physical Appearance and Dress
8. Appearance
9. Chronemics (Monochronic, Polychronic)

actually.. I do understand all of them.. but can I go for the exam without knowing the spelling of all these freaking vocabularies?

Unexpected

Believe it or not. My cats changed my life.
Just give you one example.
I adopted my lovely cats from a charity HKCATS in June 2004.
Few months later, someone from HKCATS decided to publish a magazine and asked for articles. I wrote an article and was luckily chosen to be published in the magazine. And the editor Benny became my mentor since then.
One year later, I had to go to Australia for my studies. I started to blog about how I miss my cats. Once again, Benny is nice enough to use my article for another cat magazines he was working for at that moment. Unfortunately that pet magazine stopped its business awhile ago. But Benny is planning for publishing his own cat magazine soon and my article will be one of the columns there.

What's more?
Another member from HKCATS recently asked for cat stories for her friend in Canada. Her friend is a famous Chinese DJ in Canada, she worked as a DJ in Hong Kong before and now she's working for radio stations in Canada and people from US, Canada and Australia can listen to her programme. She's planning to have a new radio programme about pets and now collecting stories. At first I didn't give this member my story because I think it's already long time ago. But she actually approached me and asked if she can have my story and send it to her friend! This is such an encouragement to me! I still cannot believe that someone can still remember a story I wrote 3 years ago. I am more than happy to share my story with her and her friend and other people in the world of course! The reason I wrote that story was to send the message across to as many people as possible!

Later in January, my article will be recorded as a story and broadcast from the DJ's programme. I'm very excited to see how my article will become in audio format.

One thing I've to say is, I've never earned a cent from all these things above. I don't really care about that. I'm already very happy when someone like my writings and is brave enough to publish them on the magazines or radio. =P

I'm so happy tonight that I didn't study at all! >.<

A conversation between a father and a daughter

A little part of the conversation between me and my dad this afternoon in our usual Sunday call:

Time: around 2:30pm

Dad: Your exam's coming up this week right? Have u started studying?

Me: Of course not! The first exam is on Tuesday. That means I will start my studying on Monday. So today I'll be sleeping whole day.

Dad: Yes, right. Never study too early, otherwise how can u keep your memory until the exam? Good plan, you'd better sleep today.

Me: Yes I will.

The bright is gone

I was in the darkness almost all of my life.
The brightness came finally last week and unfortunately it only last for a few days.
I am back to my darkness now.
Don't worry, it's just my normal world.
The only thing is, after feeling "brightness", now I know how dark my darkness world is.
Well... I doubt anyone actually understand this?
Whatever.

Final days in Singapore

wow.. it's almost the end of my exchange in Singapore!
only 18 more days left and I'm leaving this "little red dot"

I still have some places that I want to visit and some places that I wanna visit again. But I'm not sure if I have time or not. *sigh.

Here's my schedule:

21/11 : Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Musical
27/11 : Marketing SE Asia Heritage Exam (1pm) + Money & Banking Exam (5pm)
29/11 : Government & Politic of Singapore Exam (5pm)
4/12 : Intercultural Communication Exam (1pm)
7/12 : International Economics Exam (9am)
8/12 : Back to HK
10/12 : To Australia
23/12 : Finally back to HK

I hope I can squeeze some time between 29/11 - 4/12 to visit some more places before I leave this country since I'm really not sure when I will come back again.

But there are really lots of stuff to handle before I leave..
I got lots of stuff here that I'm not going to bring back to Hong Kong.
Originally I wanna find a place to store them because I plan to come back and work here.
However everything is very uncertain now so I think I have to give up most of them.
But I don't have time to sell and who's going to take my stuff at the end of semester??

Luckily last time my friend remind me of Salvation Army and eventually I found out that they have a donation box close to my place (in walking distance). Now I don't have to worry about my stuff! I actually think it's even better than selling them. =)

Now I've already found a new "home" for my printer, hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, blanket and some clothes. The only thing I've to worry is the used textbooks. Maybe I will try to see if the library here would like to have them?

anyway.. now I guess I should focus on my study. Hehee..
