What will you get if you want to PAY for a Windows Vista?

This is my own experience. Of course I'm not saying that everyone will get this when they buy Windows... but if I had a choice, I would just BT and use it..

by the way... I still haven't got the software yet... coz they have just ACCEPTED me as their customer this afternoon! thank god!
The story began when I bought my new laptop on the 26th of January this year......

This very new laptop I bought is the Fujitsu Tablet Series T4215.
I chose Fujitsu becoz the last one I used was Fujitsu and I have been using it for almost 5 yrs and it NEVER hang for one single time.

I bought a new one only becoz I think this is my last year to use the good deal as a "student" so I betrayed my dearest old laptop, I sold it.

The new laptop comes with the Windows XP, but in the packaging of the laptop,
there is a small promotion card that said "Express Upgrade to Windows Vista Program"
Here.. please do remember it said "Express"

The program was not started when I bought the laptop, on the card, it said it started from "Windows Vista Launch" to 31 March 2007.

And there is no pricing of course...
But I'm quite interested in finding out how much will it cost me to upgrade.. so I decided to check the website on the promotion card.
I was happy to know that the redemption process can be done online!

But at that time (early Feb), I was waiting for my local credit card (I don't want to pay by HKD or AUD), so I didn't apply for it.
so I waited until Feb 13 until I got my credit card from local bank and tried to apply for the upgrade.
But.. the website was no longer working!!
so I emailed them and asked if the program is still running or not.
They actually replied me AN HOUR after I sent my email and asked me to try again the next day...
so I did it the next day, the valentine's day... and it seemed working..

BUT
It turned out that the online system didn't work properly.
After I key in all the details including my CREDIT details...
well...
I thought that maybe problems with the internet connection..
so I tried again..
and this is when the problem started.
There is so-called a COA code on every laptop they sold, somehow the system cannot verify my COA anymore since that moment.
so I emailed and asked what should I do?

well... what happened next?
I think the best way to tell is to just show the emails between me and the Fujitsu support...

I've tried the web site again last nite and it looked like working so I tried to submit my request for the upgrade.. it works perfectly until last step.. after I input the details of my credit cards and click enter.. it turns out a page saying something error... and I didn't get any confirmation email of my order..

so I tried again later.. but somehow it said it is not able to validate my COA number.. (which was ok before).. is there still problems with the web site or is there any problem with my laptop? (I bought the laptop from NUS Co-op on 26 Jan 2007 and registered online already)

and not surprisingly.. I forgot again!! 3 days is too long to remember something......

but again... not surprisingly... it didn't work..
so guess what? I emailed them again!

I really don't know what they are thinking?

Am I begging them for a free Windows Vista??

Yes, I'm paying only S$44 for it... but this is what they offer me..

If they don't want my money.. why don't they just BS some reasons and tell me I'm not eligible for the program?

Why did they keep me waiting and do nothing?

And how could a PC company, which "service" is a big part of their business, can treat a customer like that?

I mean, ignoring customer enquiry is..... well...

I do appreciate their efficency (only for today)..

well...
tell you the truth.

I don't feel bad at all after seeing their "comments".
I just learnt three things from this:
first:
Next time if I want their service, I need to sound like "impatient" to get them move!
never be nice to them!
second:
maybe I should consider BT next time, which cost me nothing in terms on money and time!
third:
an EXPRESS program... can takes up to 2 months.. and still hasn't come to the end
(I'm still waiting for the delivery, who knows what will happen?)

The power of music

I've been quite lazy this weekend.
I spent my whole day outside yesterday, and then spent all this morning on my NDSL..
so.. I put myself to the library in the afternoon after lunch..
which... was a mistake!

I thought that I've been to the library on Sundays and stayed until late at night before..
and obviously.. I was wrong.
I arrived there at around 3:45pm only to notice that it is going to be closed at 4:30pm...
well.. anyway.. I can still work for 45mins..

I was wrong again!
coz I could only work for 30mins.
Although I couldn't finish my work, I was taught the power of the music!

Usually there will be announcement at certain time before the library close to remind the readers to pack their things and leave on time.
The libraries at my uni (ANU) and the libraries I worked for (HK Public libraries) make these announcements 30 mins before closing.
But I noticed that.. the readers of both the libraries never leave until the security guards kick them out..

However, the library here... at least the one at business faculty... managed to make all the students "evacuate" only in the last 15 mins!
The difference is, of course, the music they choose and how they use it.

There was no announcement at 4pm.. the announcement only started at 4:15.
Soonly after the formal announcement, the music came!
The music I heard from ANU and HK library were very smooth, soft one that you don't mind to hear it everyday.
but the one I heard today...
is those that you would never want to hear in a library...
It was very passionate, very exciting... I'm sure that trumpet was the main instrument in the piece.
Most importantly.. it was in full volume.. which makes my heart beat faster and faster.
From the moment that the music started, you just know that you won't be able to stay there any longer.

That was exactly what happend.
People packed their stuff ASAP and left the library as if they were evacuating!!
Of course, "people" here include myself.

Although I left the library, I was still able to hear the music even I had already walked away from the building.
The power of the music!!

But.. I know there are some people who really love this piece of music -- the library staff.
Coz I worked in library before.. hahaha
we do love the closing music very very much! sometimes we do hum along with the music!!

I did the sleep-xyzing thing!!!

I did it!!! seriously!!! I did the sleep-xxxing thing!!!
Just the night after I read the news about FDA's warning towards my pill!!!

What I did... was much more serious and dangerious than sleep-driving and sleep-working...
I... I... did... sleep-KILLING!!!

That night.. I took the pill at around mid-night as usual.. then I went to bed.
Then.. it happened.. I dunno what time it was...

I "woke up".. saw him having dinner in my room..
Somehow I realized he had already had more than TEN meals!!!
I was very angry..
so.. just when he was enjoying he next meal.... "BANG"... I killed him!!!

Blood was all over my hand...
I even went outside my room and went to the washroom and washed my hands!!

After I came back to the room..
I was still scared... I wonder why would I kill somebody while he was just trying to eat and survive??
I am a killer!!
It must be the pill that made me kill him!! Must be!!
I'll never kill anyone!! I'm innocent!!

although he had all those more than TEN meals from all over my body...
but he was just eating... and trying to survive..
how dare I kill him??

Sleep-Driving.. What about Sleep-Working??

FDA just announced a warning to some prescripted sleeping pills that they may sometimes cause sleep-driving!!
so amazing!!

the most amazing thing is... I'm one of the patient undertaking the pills!!
unfortunately.. I don't drive.. and I don't even have a car..

Of course sleep-driving is just one of the possibilities that ones will do after taking those sleeping pills..
other things they.. or we could do are.. making phone calls, eating, fixing things.. or even having sex.. wow..

I've been taking STILNOX for almost a month.. I really wonder if I had done anything while I was sleeping.. hahaha
hmm.. isn't it wonderful that u can sleep and do things at the same time?
imagine if I can do my assignments or study while I'm sleeping... so wonderful!!
but... I really doubt if I had done anything..
coz I'm taking really small dose of the pill every night.. just 5mg.. half of the standard dose.. hahaa
oh.. I did take 10mg for the first 2 weeks.. but I don't think I need that much anymore so I start taking half of the pill recently..
and I'm planning to stop taking it actually before I heard this FDA warning.

hmm... what can I actually do while I'm sleeping??
Will I jump out of my window?? I'm staying on the 6th floor...
should I close my window when I sleep.. but I will still be able to open it while I'm sleeping I guess...

hahaa.. anyway.. time to "sleep".... wish I could do some "sleep-working" tonight!!

Another guy

Can't believe I'm writing another guy just two days after the previous one...
but!! don't get me wrong. This is a totally different story!!
This guy.....

He is one of my groupmates in Promotional Management project.
I almost gonna had a fight with him just now in the meeting.. hahaha
of course.. I will never do that.
and this is my very first time to "be pissed off" during any group meetings in my entire life!!

I think he's those type that my sister described about her Singaporean groupmates in Australia..
He thinks that he got the most brilliant ideas in the world.. so never hear what other people say..
Whenever someone say something, he will interrupt with "What you mean by... (repeating the person's sentence)"
Then whenever he got his idea.. he will say "Oh.. this is what we should do"

Well.. for those who got his response of "what you mean by...." is already lucky..
people like me.. whom he think i'm nobody... will just ignore me..
he can really do that!!
I feel that's so funny.. when we are in a group.. when I say something.. he just seems that I'm not even there...
and when I'm in the mid-way of my sentence.. he just starts talkiing!!
wow.. how respectful is that!!
I observed his behaviour for 2 of our meetings.. and figured out he only do that to me..
but I dunno why... maybe I'm really nobody.. hahahaa

actually I dun really mind whether he ignores me or not..
so whenever he interrupts me, I just shut up and keep silent and let him speak.
but just now when we were having the meeting.. I did something I never do before..

coz he always think he got the most brilliant idea..
so as usual he was talking about his idea of how we should do our project..
well.. if he really had good ideas.. (hmm.. at least feasibily idea I should say).. I won't do such things
but.. what he said is like... we should do "less" than others groups do to be "special".......

to be fair.. let me clarify the thing..
there are 6 components we could do in our project.. we can choose to do whatever suitable for the ad campaign.
since the campaign is going to last for 3-6mths and there is no budget constraints,
it's very likely for all groups to fully utilize all components if they could..
what this guy saying is.. we should only do one of them... to be "special"...
and that "one" he chosen.. was not even an effective way to advertise (although he claim that is the MOST effiecent one..)

when he was saying his brillian idea.. all of us were is silent..
one of our groupmates seems to be his gf.. so she had nothing to say.. I understand that..
the other 2 girls.. they are very nice girls.. they tried to talk to him and tried to change his mind..
but what he did is keep is "what u mean by" strategy...

the project is due in 3-wks time.. I don't want to delay it anymore..
I know the other 3 girls are too nice.. they don't want to make him angry or whatever.. (that's a Chinese culture, conflict avoidance, isn't it)
but then... someone has to do it..
so I do what I think I should do..
I "argued" with him.. with my limited English skills..
and acted like pissed off... like this ->
and insisted to use other components..

somehow I dun care what he thinks about me.. he's not the king anyway.. I don't need to please him..
I just had enough of him..
It always sounds like the 4 of us are doing a project, and he's the judge and simply ban everything and make us follow him..
well... actually.. I don't need to care about the marks since I'm on exchange, I don't have my grade on my script..
but I do care what I do!

well.. 3 weeks to go..
I didn't expect the project to be a good one
I do think it will be much more better without him seriously..
I can see it from last meeting.. 4 of us worked very well..
anyway.. I do hope that at least the campaign is a feasible one... bless me...

That guy...

Haven't had this feeling for a very very long time.
I still remember the last time I had the same feeling,
was the nite when I saw the conductor performing on the stage in an orchestra.
I was soooooo attracted by him.
I was sooo attracted by a man, just simply because of his physical appearance.
And it was long long time ago.

It happens again these few days.. when I met this guy.
I know nothing about him of course.. at least up till now.
But I've already met him three times at different places in the Faculty.

First time, I was studying in the library.
I was very tired that day, as usual.. leaning myself on the table while using my laptop.. almost fell asleep..
I noticed him walked by the corridor.. not becoz of his appearance at the first sight..
just becoz he was holding a huge camera.. with a very long lens..
I also take photos.. so I start wondering.. what will be his "target" today..
but then I felt that he noticed me.. I think it's becoz i was the laziest ppl in the library..
all others were very energetic about their work..
I knew exactly what he's going to do.. as a photographer..
he walked away for a little while..
then came back as if there was nothing happened..
I was quite cooperative actually.. I kept myself staring at my laptop... kept my position..
and I heard the sound.. he took a few shots of me..
hahaa.. he's not a very good one though.. his camera is too noisy... that even he was standing quite far away.. i could still hear very clearly..
after a few shots.. I couldn't stand anymore.. I turned my head to him..
as if I just noticed him (hahaha).. and of coz.. i knew that... he quickly walked away...

but just that second when I looked at him.. I was a bit shocked..
I was really attracted by his appearance... his outlook, his style, even the way he hold his camera... just perfect..
I just wish that I had my camera with me so that maybe we could have something to talk.. hahaha...

OK.. a few days later... I met him the second time.. not in the library anymore..
I was sitting in one of the benches in the Faculty using my laptop (again!)... waiting for my friends..
and then I saw him walked by.. with his camera (again!)
I'm sure he saw me.. why? coz I know.. when a photographer carrying his camera, he will just look at everything around him..
so.. it's not "me" that make him look at me.. just becoz I was around.. (if u understand what i'm saying)
he walked pass my bench and disappeared within 5 seconds.. he is soo tall so he walks very fast...
but after a few minutes.. he appeared again~
I was quite happy to see him again..
Although I'm not going to introduce myself to him.. seeing such a good-looking guy could just make my day a lot better!

Lucky me.. I met him AGAIN on the next day..
he didn't see me this time.. coz he was very far away from me..
this time, I was just talking with my friends outside the library
and I happened to see him in an office opposite the library..
hmm.. i think... there's where he works..
coz he doesn't look like an undergrad at all..
at that time.. i've a weird idea..
one day.. i'm going to take a picture of him.. coz he took mine already~~
hahaa


By the way..
I feel so crazy about myself being attracted by a total stranger after all these years..
I mean.. well...
this is not love.. i know..
i'm not going to love anyone anymore.. and I won't let anyone to love me as well.. at least at this moment..
coz.. I can't trust anyone.. and I don't trust love..

the only love I trust.. is the love from my two cute cute cats..
they still love me so much even I leave them alone and go for studying for 2 and a half years
they are still waiting for me..
during CNY, I went back to HK.. I stayed with them most of the time..
I can feel their love... this is something that no one on earth can give me...

But to be honest.. as a woman..
I do long for hugs.. lots of hugs..
I mean being hugged..
that's why I like big guys..
my friends said my ex is not big enough for me.. they said my 1st bf was better..
but he did give me lots of good hugs that made me feel safe..
well... these things... all past already... didn't they?
I do sounds like a kid sometimes..
anyway...

one other thing...
anyone know how to kill headache except for panadol or any medicine?
I dunno why recently I have headache like almost everyday which is very annoying..
